Collect less. Protect more.
Because this service involves minors, we limit public information and keep sensitive records out of browser storage and public website files.
Information we collect
Elong collects only information needed to review tutoring requests and volunteer applications, manage student-owned profiles, operate approved matches, schedule sessions, exchange monitored messages and files, record assignments, or review private safety reports. This may include contact details, student age and grade, academic needs, availability, application responses, and redacted qualification evidence.
What is public
Elong does not publish a tutor directory during the pilot. Limited profile information may be shared privately with an approved match and authorized administrators, but home addresses, personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, exact schedules, birth dates, emergency contacts, academic records, private ratings, and safety reports are never made public.
Portal data and minors
School-age students under 18 may have a student account. Before enrollment, the account can access only its tutoring request and status. After enrollment, the student can use approved matches, messages, files, assignments, and scheduling. For a student under 13, the primary contact must be a guardian and that guardian must remain present throughout every in-person session.
Sharing and retention
Authorized Elong administrators and necessary service providers may access submitted information only to operate and protect the program. Information is not sold. Routine account, request, match, message, and session records may be retained while the account is active and for up to 24 months afterward. Transcript evidence is deleted within 90 days after a final application decision unless an active review or documented safety issue requires a longer hold. Payment, safety, fraud, or legally required records may be retained longer when necessary.
Correction and deletion
Email info@e-long.org to request access, correction, or deletion. Elong will verify the requester’s identity, remove records that are no longer needed, and explain any limited records that must be retained.
